Larry Pressler senior advisor (non-executive)
Senator Larry Pressler was the first Vietnam veteran elected to the US Senate. During his 18 year tenure, he served as Chairman of the Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committees. He also was an active member of the Foreign Relations Committee. Prior to his election to the Senate, he served two terms as a member of the US House of Representatives.
As a veteran, Senator Pressler is particularly passionate about veteran homelessness. He currently serves on the Jericho Project's Veteran Homeless Advisory Council in New York City, which has recently opened two homeless facilities for veterans in the Bronx and Harlem. He served two tours of combat duty in Vietnam and was awarded many medals, including the Bronze Star.
Patrick Merkle co-director
A senior at Brigham Young University where he studies the classics, Patrick has always had a passion for serving others. He has tutored inner-city students in Washington D.C., served a two year religious mission in Portugal, and beautified federal property belonging to the Department of Interior.
As a former appointee to West Point and with a brother who is a commissioned officer in the Air Force, Patrick has always had a love and respect for the armed forces. He has worked in the United States Senate as a page for Senator Harry Reid, at a mortgage bank, and with a disability benefits advocacy group.
Karl Notturno co-director
Karl is an entrepreneur, writer, and musician. He is currently working on a couple of startups and at a government relations firm in Washington DC. He leverages his experience in finance, technology, entertainment, and politics to solve problems pragmatically. He is a recent graduate of Yale University with degrees in philosophy and history and is currently a Mount Vernon Fellow at the Center for American Greatness.
In his free time, Karl enjoys having long conversations with strangers about politics, philosophy, and life.
Mitch Krull real-estate agent
Mitch is a third generation entrepreneur who has rapidly risen as a top producer in the real-estate profession. He comes from a long line of United States military veterans and has a passion for this country and those who have served it faithfully. He is a student of history and foreign languages and enjoys using and improving his skills by talking to all those he meets at home and abroad.
Samantha Metzger director of operations
Samantha is an recent Business Administration major from Emmanuel College who brings her entrepreneurial spirit to every organization she joins. She recently moved to Washington DC to work for the Madison Coalition as their Outreach Coordinator. She also recently spent time in Nèpal building schools. She has a sister involved in a ROTC High School program who has received the National NROTC Scholarship Marine option. Samantha is very passionate about the issue of the forgotten veterans who served our country.
Olivia Merkle board-member
Olivia is currently a student of English and Portuguese at Brigham Young University. She is a well traveled citizen of the world who has participated in community service projects on four different continents. She built libraries and schools for orphans in Guatemala, Zambia, Portugal, and Cambodia.
Olivia comes from a large family that is experienced in entrepreneurial endeavors. She is bilingual, an avid reader, and prolific writer in both Portuguese and English.
